Science and Religion

An accidentally dropped egg splatters in a cup. The reverse process, a splattered egg reforming into a whole egg and jumping up to an outstretched hand, will never happen on its own. But why not? Why can't the process be reversed like a video tape run backward? This is answered by (Physics) Science and it explains millions of questions like this. And there are questions which are not answered by science too e.g. what is spirit? There are many phenomena which are still mysterious for science. Even science has no satisfactory answer for what is dream? So, science is imperfect. It has many things to explore and it is still young in knowledge. Similarly, what is god? What is the bond that binds you so that you can't remain isolated? etc. The answers to these questions are given by religion. It also has no answer for many questions as science doesn't. So, it isn't too old in Knowledge.

Today, none can deny that science deals with nature. If we consider Physics as an example, it mainly deals with force, energy and particles which are the building blocks of the whole universe. Again, if we consider biology, it deals with cells which are the fundamental building blocks of the whole organisms. All these are invisible, aren't they? But see how, important they are! So, science deals with nature and main objective of science is to understand nature and to remove the veil of mystery i.e. to see the truth, to feel the truth and to apply the truth.

Again, let us have a turn towards religion. It is very old in origin and is the mother of human culture and civilization. In specific words, it is philosophy, science and constitution. The religion was introduced to give society a true vision, to give it a specific direction and make the world appropriate for living. It is actually a principle which deals with all the problems relating to human civilization and its development.

Actually, every thing has both aspects i.e. good and bad. So, each principle has both aspects. And Science and religion are no exception. They are the blessings if used properly and not less than curse if misused. In fact, religion was introduced for good but the selfish and dogmatic people who had power in their hands misinterpreted and misused it. They introduced the caste systems and numerous superstitions. Instead of refining and removing any bad aspects it contained they added still more impurities. Thus, it became more and more dirty. Everything needs constant renewing and changing with the course of time but still there is something that never changes, that is truth. Religions are very sensitive to truth. So, religions regard it as good. Indeed! Religion was the product of great philosophers as today's politics and laws are the product of our thinkers which are actually the outcome of necessity of our society. Hence, religion was the outcome of necessity of our society which is a true vision and best principle in sense it approaches the truth and shows the way to approach it. But due to the pollution and misuse it has become the cause of violence and war. Similarly, science was introduced to reveal the truth and was the outcome of our needs. It serves us in different ways and makes our life worth living. When misused it becomes the greatest nuisance. Remember! The first and the Second World War were the consequences of misuse of science.

Now, let me be very specific. As physics deals with force, energy, and particles, Religion deals with morality, social problems and their solutions. As ecology deals with the relationship between living and non-living things, religion deals with the co-existence of different organisms which has been realized to be very important. As, science deals with nature's laws, Religion deals with social laws. As nature's law are unbreakable so are the social laws e.g. If you attain the velocity higher than escape velocity, you are no more bound to this earth. so is the case if you break the social laws .i.e. you are no more bound to the society. You are totally isolated. You have no right to be in the society.

Similarly, as a physicist deals with invisible things like force and energy each and every time a Rishi deals with spirit and God. Asia Physicist feels force everywhere, a Rishi feels God everywhere.

Again, let us consider some examples. Newton considered light always moves in a straight line. He also considered mass as a fixed and time as an unalterable. But Einstein proved light bends when it passes nearby the heavy masses. He also proved that mass of an object can vary with motion and he also proved time as relative turns, which is known as special theory of relativity. Similarly, Newton considered gravitation due to the attraction between masses but Einstein showed that, instead gravitation is due to a curvature of space that is caused by masses.

Actually, is gravitation due to the curvature of space time due to the presence of masses or due to force between the masses? Or it is due to the action of fundamental particles called graviton, as explained in modern Physics theories? We do not know.

Now, a question arises whom to believe? And which is truth? We know there is only one truth. Among the explanations, one may be truth and all others false or all may be false. We do not know but one of them may convince you more and you may believe in it. Thus, theories may change with time but the truth still remains the same. Science is only the way of exploring truth. As there are many ways to go to a place there may be various ways to explore it as various theories suggest.

Again, look at the religion. There are different religions which explain the way to reach the truth i.e. to approach the god but differently. We can choose which seems to be right one to us. So, everyone should be free to choose the religion as they like.

As theories are renewed time and again, the religious books should be renewed time and again. The religious were the theories given long time ago so they are based on the circumstances of that time. So, they should be changed according to today's necessity. As a theory holds good within a certain limit and beyond this limit it fails. So the religion was able to govern the society at the time they were given but by this time, everything has changed and this theory does not hold good now, until renewed. So, the religions where they are applied as the constitution have shown adverse effects. As research goes on science, the research should be undertaken in religion. Actually religion is the foundation of human civilization so it shouldn't be neglected instead it should be strengthened time and again.

Again, I want to highlight something about today's science. Scientists are in a way of unifying strong and weak force for which Einstein spent most of his later life. Maxwell combined electric and magnetic force known as electromagnetic force. Later, other scientists combined electromagnetic and weak force. Now scientists are trying to unify electroweak and strong force which is known as Grand Unification theory (GUTS). Theories that seek to complete the job by adding gravity sometimes called the theory of everything (TOE) is encouraging but in speculative stage. Others are the study of atoms and cells which has been started long before and I think the study of those things will ever never complete because they are invisible and the most complex. A single atom can be compared with the whole universe. It means an atom is as complex as the whole universe. The only difference is atom is made of so many invisible objects as universe is made of so many heavenly objects. So, I think it may not seem odd to call an atom a micro universe.

Similarly, religion deals with spirit and god which are invisible. The spirit and god are completely invisible and should be felt. I think thoughts are the language of spirit and the feelings are the cause of thought. As we can think anything, anywhere at anytime, our thoughts must be electromagnetic in nature. As waves follow principle of superposition the thoughts also show it. As antenna receives the specific wave the spirits of different people receive specific thoughts. So different people are inclined to different principles and they have friends according to their own nature.

The last thing I want to convey is as scientists are trying to combine forces we should try to combine all the religions. Science and religions are to be developed as the complements of each other. When we combine all these things then as scientists are thinking theory of everything. We can achieve (theory of every thing) it and we can also achieve unity, peace and development of each and every part of the world. For minimizing evil thoughts and evil thoughts and evil deeds it is necessary to change our attitudes. To win each others heart, history has revealed mutual understanding is necessary and war has nothing to do except disturbing the harmony. Every leader in the 1st and 2nd world war declared them fighting for the achievement of peace and their rights. At last they concluded that they did the worst thing because at the end of the war, there was nothing accepts grief and regret. World suffered long economic crisis and soon. Now, everyone knows that war is the only game in which both the teams lose it. So, let's play the game in which everybody wins and nobody loses and this is unity, co-operation and peace which could be obtained by just changing the attitudes. Let's start playing now the game of uniting i.e. uniting force, uniting religion and uniting people. They and only they a glow of peace will shine over the earth, the sense of humanity will fill the whole atmosphere and development will come as a slave. Poverty will perish from this earth and the earth will become a heaven so let’s start with uniting science and religion them only we can play in this ground, the game of uniting.
