Peacefornepal.com organized various functions to observe 59th UN Day. The celebration lasted for three days from October23rd to October 25th, 2004. On the 23rd, the very day of Dashain, the most important festival of Nepalese, especially Hindus, peacefornepal.com cooperated with Chengdu Urban Rivers Association to organize the event on the eve of UN Day. Peace concert was organized in the music square at He Jian Ting, a street in the almost central part of the city nearby Fu Nan River,while the opening ceremony of the program was held by planting a peace pole donated by Mr. Koirala, our founder, and presently Peace Representative to World Peace Prayers Society, USA.. Amid various cultural events and functions, peace was the central theme of the program and Giant Peace Doves were one of the major attractions and symbol of peace. Ten Kids along with Mr. Koirala raised the giant peace dove high and went around the stage, made demonstration to the spectators and peace songs were song later while the prayer, " May Peace Prevail on Earth" was repeated aloud in various world languages.Peace flags and flags of each countries from around the world were held high while world peace prayer was done.

The celebration continued with various programs in the school, in West China Medical Center, Sichuan University for the other two days. Thousands of prayers and peace messages were collected from various universities, while peace banners, peace poles, giant peace doves, world flags made the program very colorful.
